Governor's Spending

West Virginia law requires government bodies to give notice of all meetings so citizens can express their opinions and monitor the government’s spending of our money.

The Capitol Building Commission flagrantly violated this law so they could build another improvement to the Governor's Mansion in order to get ready for the Governor's three Christmas fiestas this year. This is the same mansion where the Governor spent $3 million of taxpayers' money and which was $2 million over budget.

How much of our taxpayers' monies will be spent for the Governor's three Christmas parties and if taxpayers' monies are being used, why weren't all of us invited? Why should we pay for the Governor's cronies stuffing their faces with cream puffs and truffles?

Word is that the Governor is having a difficult time deciding what to buy Big Dawg and me for Christmas. In the spirit of Christmas, we suggest that rather than getting us a gift, use the money to fix our tunnels correctly, and by the way, we wish you a Merry Christmas.
