Christmas is once again upon all of us. We are now planning to make that magical eve and day special for those we care about. It is a time of peace, friendship, worship and celebration.

As a child, presents were very important, and first thing each Christmas morning, the five children in my family would count their gifts to see who received the most and had been designated by Santa as the best child of the year.

Although we all still exchange gifts, we have come to learn that the exchange is only symbolic and the real gift is in having family, loved ones and friends.

Christmas is a season to remind us to be charitable and to take care of our fellow brothers and sisters, regardless of race, religion, color or creed, just like Jesus Christ did.
